Beautiful Scenery, Great Guide, Good Hotels: Go with Dacey's for Cornwall! My husband and I are very glad that we went on this tour--our first small-group tour experience. We got picked up and dropped off in London (very convenient), had a comfortable bus for the whole week, and saw much more of Cornwall than we ever could've seen on our own. We also had the chance to meet some wonderful fellow travelers and have David as our guide. Highlights for us included the castle ruins at Tintagel, the beautiful rocky Cornish coastline (ever present), all the quaint fishing villages (get your camera ready!), and a stop at an ancient stone circle in a farmer's field. Oh: & wandering off on our own in Exeter, at the end of the tour, to attend a service of Evensong at Exeter Cathedral. The days are full--you see a lot--& the hotel accommodations comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotels were. A hot & hearty breakfast is included every morning, and you're on your own for lunch and dinner. It's easy to stay with the larger group for the day but also easy to step away and do things on your own, such as we did with going to Evensong. David, the guide, is good at creating community within the group, and shares much Cornish history and many stories throughout the tour--as well as many suggestions for lunch and dinner. FYI: Prepare to get some exercise. Cornwall is very hilly, and as we heard (& experienced) more than once on the trip, What goes down in Cornwall must also come back up. People with mobility issues will find this tour challenging but not impossible. People without mobility issues will definitely get in their steps & cardio. But... all those steps makes the eating of Cornish pasties less of a guilty pleasure. Highly recommend for those who are curious about this part of the UK.
